class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Eminent Knight James Russell Armstrong, P.Gt.Her.<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-10768c0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"10768c0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>The Provincial Priory of Northumberland suffered the loss of one of its longest serving and most respected members after the death of E Kt James Russell Armstrong, P.Gt.Herald, in December 2020.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-09eafd9 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"09eafd9\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Russell was initiated into Freemasonry in 1964, in Morecambe Lodge No 1561 in the Province of West Lancashire. <br \/><br \/>Despite moving to Northumberland in the 1970\u2019s, he remained a subscribing member of his mother Lodge until being elected to Honorary membership in 2016.<br \/><br \/>He was exalted into Morecambe Royal Arch Chapter No 1561 in 1971 but after moving to the north east he joined Hexham Priory Lodge No 6318 and Albert Edward Chapter No 1557.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-85b1fad\" data-id=\"85b1fad\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d6d68ba elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d6d68ba\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>His talent as a mason was immediately evident, and in 1989 he was appointed as Acting Provincial Senior Grand Warden for Northumberland.<\/p><p>Appointment in Grand Lodge followed in 1995, to the rank of Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies. As a professional accountant, he served for many years as the Provincial Treasurer of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Northumberland. <br \/>In the Templar Order he was installed a Knight in St Wilfred of Hexham Preceptory No 461 in 1981, subsequently serving as Eminent Preceptor in 1990.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-bff1256\" data-id=\"bff1256\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-82ff894 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"82ff894\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>He was, in addition, a Founder member of the Preceptory of Tutelage No 633 in 2002, and in consequence of his service he was the Provincial First Constable before appointment to Past Great Aide-de-Camp in 2002 and later promotion to Past Great Herald in 2011.\u00a0A member of several other masonic Orders, he was a Grand Officer in most \u2013 Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons;
