New Tradition for German Knights Templars Created at Enthronement of the New Scottish Grand Master
The historic city of Edinburgh and home of the Great Priory of Scotland played out the time honoured ceremony of enthroning the Order’s new Grand Master. In similar fashion to the occasion five years ago, the Grand Priory of Germany assembled a sizeable senior lineup as part of the international delegations in amenity with Scotland.
Attendees arrived by air, train and car, reminiscent of a Hollywood movie, most with over-night stays. Unlike the last enthronement, this time the Grand master was accompanied by his personal body guard, all dress immaculately. In the case of Body Guard, they travelled up by train from Newcastle as a team.
With a full programme and many international delegations, Germany were restricted to two representatives to process in to be greeted by the Grand Master of the Great Priory of Scotland.
The remainder sitting together on designated named seats. Received under an arch of steel, ME Kt MacKenzie GCT accompanied by RE Kt Schon KCT GMA processed in.
Much to everyone’s delight and surprise, as one and in unison, all Knights of the GPvD stood for their Grand Master. Such was the unusual sight, with hands warmly engaged with his guest, the Grand Master of Scotland made a delightful comment of the courtesy and support extended the two Principals by the German delegation. Such was the impact, it was decided this was one of those occasions when a new tradition was made.
