Eminent Knight Stanley Oliver, P.Prov.Gt.2nd Const.

E Kt Stan Oliver was called to higher service on 15th December 2018 after 45 years’ service to Freemasonry.
Initiated into Seaton Valley Lodge No 6239 in September 1973, Stan acted as Master in 1978 and in consequence, was appointed to the rank of Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 1987 before promotion seven years later to Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden. In the Royal Arch, he was exalted in Astley Chapter No 2997 in 1975, acting as First Principal in 1984.
In addition, he was a Founder member of Seaton Delaval Chapter No 4617 in 1981 and was its First Principal in 1985.
This led to his eventual promotion to the rank of Past Scribe Nehemiah in the Provincial Grand Chapter of Northumberland before he received the Supreme Grand Chapter rank of Past Grand Standard Bearer in 1998.
Stan was installed a Knight in our Order in Brandling Preceptory No 239 in February 1991.
He acted as Preceptor in 2000 and, in consequence, was appointed as Past Provincial Great Standard Bearer (VB) before promotion to Past Provincial Second Constable.
A staunch supporter of Brandling Preceptory and Priory, as well as the Provincial Priory of Northumberland, Stan gave 27 years of devoted service to our Order and his passing has been a sad loss to us all.
