Brother Knights, it is with deep sadness that I have to report the sad passing of Eminent Knight William Robb.
Bro Bill was initiated into Freemasonry in Buddle Lodge No 3937 in March 1973. He acted as Master of the Lodge in 1981 and was subsequently the Charity Steward for over a decade.
He further joined two other Lodges – Excelsior No 6609 in 1997, acting as Master in 2003, and Holy Cross No 3679 in 2013 – and he maintained his membership of all three Lodges up to his death.
In Provincial Grand Lodge he was appointed in 1990 to Past Provincial Deputy Grand Registrar before promotion to Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2000.
He was exalted into the Royal Arch in Neptune Chapter No 2908 in 1984; was its First Principal twice, in 1989 and 1997; and promoted to the rank of Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah in 2001.
He joined the Knight Templar Order in October 1993 in St Oswald Preceptory No 481, though he later became a Founder member of Templar Segedunum Preceptory in 1994 as well as a joining member of Northanhymbre Preceptory No 590 in 1997.
He acted as Eminent Preceptor of Templar Segedunum in 2001 and of Northanhymbre Preceptory in 2004.
E Kt William Robb was a keen and committed Knight Templar and provided great support to several Preceptories in the Provincial Priory of Northumberland.
