Eminent Knight Allan William Glover, P.Prov.Reg.

It is with great sadness that the Provincial Priory reports the passing of Eminent Knight Allan William Glover.
Bro Allan Glover was initiated into Freemasonry in All Saints Lodge No 4253 in November 1966. He also joined Ocianus Lodge No 8329 and was its Master on two occasions, in 1979 and 1987.
He was appointed in Provincial Grand Lodge to the rank of Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 1984 and subsequently promoted in 1989 to the rank of Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden – one of the highest Provincial ranks attainable.
In the Royal Arch he was exalted in Seymour Bell Chapter No 3635 in 1971 but also became a Founder of Castle Wardens Chapter No 8213 in 1978.
He acted as First Principal in 1987 and remaining a subscribing member until its erasure in 2013.For his service to the Provincial Grand Chapter he was appointed Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 1984 and later promoted, in 1993, to Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah.
He was installed as a Knight Templar in St Oswald Preceptory No 481 in January 1977 and gave 38 years of devoted service to the Preceptory until his death.
Acting as Preceptor in 1996.
He was a member of several other Orders under the auspices of Mark Masons’ Hall:
Advanced in Nepos Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1155, he was later a Founder of Ponteland Mark Lodge, Master in 1988 and promoted to Past Provincial Grand Junior Warden in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Northumberland; a Founder and Past Commander of Ponteland Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners and a holder of Provincial RAM Grand Rank.
He also joined, but later left, the Royal Kent Conclave No 152 of the Order of the Red Cross of Constantine; Royal Kent Council of the Order of the Royal and Select Masters;
Royal Kent Council of the Order of the Allied Masonic Degrees and the Royal Kent Conclave of the Order of the Secret Monitor.
A valued and much respected member of our Templar Order, his passing was mourned by all the Brother Knights who knew him.
