Eminent Knight Colin Smith, P.Prov.Reg.

In July 2015, E Kt Colin Smith was, at the age of 77 years, called to higher service by our Great Captain.
Bro Colin was initiated into Freemasonry in Lindisfarne Lodge No 2762 in April 1972.
He acted as Master in 1982 and consequently was appointed as Past Provincial Assistant Grand Registrar in 1991 before promotion to Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 1997.
He was exalted into the Royal Arch in Thomas Purvis Chapter No 2327 in 1985, and was its First Principal in 1995, the following year joining the Northumbrian First Principals Chapter No 3477. In Provincial Grand Chapter he attained the rank of Acting Provincial Grand Sojourner in 2000 before promotion to Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah in 2006.
He joined the Knights Templar when he was installed in the Prior’s Haven Preceptory No 522 in February 2001. Taking the Preceptor’s Chair in 2006, he later became a joining member of the Preceptory of Tutelage No 633 in 2008.
In recognition of his service to the Order, the Provincial Priory of Northumberland appointed him as Past Provincial Registrar.
His passing was mourned by all those Brethren and Brother Knights who knew him and he will never be forgotten.
