Eminent Knight David Reynolds, P.Prov.Reg.

It is with great sadness that the Provincial Priory reports the passing of Eminent Knight David Reynolds.
Bro David Reynolds had been initiated into Freemasonry in Eadwine Lodge No 4398 in October 1990 and acted as its Master on two occasions in 1998 and 2005, subsequently becoming the Lodge Charity Steward for seven years until his death.
In consequence of his service he was appointed in 2006 to the rank of Acting Provincial Senior Grand Deacon – the highest rank attainable on first appointment – and was later promoted to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer in 2012.
He was exalted into the Royal Arch in St Cuthbert Chapter No 1902 in 1994 and was its First Principal in 2004, later acting as Chapter Scribe E for the next ten years.
The Provincial Grand Chapter appointed him in 2009 as Past Provincial Assistant Grand Sojourner, with promotion in 2014 to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer.
He was installed a Knight Templar in St Aidan Preceptory No 469 in December 1999, later also becoming a joining member of Wudcestre Preceptory No 537. He was Eminent Preceptor of St Aidan in 2006 and the following year appointed in Provincial Priory to the rank of Provincial Aide-de-Camp with later promotion to Past Provincial Registrar.
Active in many other Orders under Mark Masons’ Hall, he joined the Mark Degree in Hartford Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 546 in 1997 and was Master in 2008; Commander of Hartford Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 546 in 2006; Sovereign of King Oswald Red Cross Conclave No 316 in 2010 and Divisional Standard Bearer (Constantine) in the Division of Northumberland; Past Master of Napier Clavering Council No 98 in the Order of the Allied Masonic Degrees and District Grand Standard Bearer in the District of Northumberland and Durham.
He was particularly active in the Order of the Secret Monitor, being a member and Past Secretary of the Heart of Glendale Conclave No 239, the Shield of David Conclave No 511, and Founder of the Scarlet Cord Conclave of Northumberland No 559, as well as Founder of the Conclave of the Prince Bishops No 601.
To reflect his dedication to the Order he was appointed as the Provincial Grand Visitor of the Province of Northumberland in 2013.
His service to the Order of the Scarlet Cord was similarly noteworthy. He was a Founder member of the Northumberland Consistory No 39 T.I. in 2010, just before his death, he was made a Grand Officer (Past Grand Sword Bearer) in the Ancient and Masonic Order of the Scarlet Cord.
His passing was a cause for sadness throughout the Province of Northumberland and he will be greatly missed by all of the Brethren and Brother Knights who knew him.
