Eminent Knight Peter Geoffrey Brinkworth, Gt.Capt.Gds.

E Kt Peter Brinkworth was called to higher service by our Great Captain in February 2013 at the age of 66 years.
He has been initiated into Freemasonry in St Alban Lodge No 5322 in January 1973. He became Master of the Lodge on two occasions, in 1983 and 1987. In 1991 he joined the Northumbrian Masters Lodge No 3477 and remained a subscribing member of both Lodges until his death.
In Provincial Grand Lodge, he received first appointment, in 1992, to the rank of Past Provincial Junior Grand Deacon, followed five years later by promotion to Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden.
In the Royal Arch he was exalted in Vandaleur Chapter No 3586 in 1985, later becoming a joining member of the Northumbrian First Principals Chapter No 3477 and also of St Peter’s Chapter No 481 and a Founding member of Per Diem Chapter No 9638.
For his service to the Order he was promoted to the rank of Past Provincial Grand Registrar in Provincial Grand Chapter in 2009.
He joined our Knight Templar Order after being installed a Knight in Chibburn Preceptory No 232 in April 1987. He later became a joining member of Northanhymbre Preceptory No 590 and acted as its Preceptor in 1987. To further his Templar knowledge and experience he joined the Preceptory of Tutelage No 633 in 2008.
In Provincial Priory his appointment as Provincial Aide-de-Camp was followed by promotion in Great Priory to the Acting rank of Great Captain of the Guards in 2012.
In the Ancient and Accepted Rite he was a member and Past Sovereign of the St Albans at Earsdon Chapter Rose Croix No 861 and a holder of the 30th Degree.
He was similarly active in many other Orders under the auspices of Mark Masons’ Hall and a Grand Officer in many:
Past Grand Standard Bearer of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons; a holder of Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank; Past Grand Sword Bearer in the Order of the Secret Monitor; Past Grand Sword Bearer in the Order of Royal and Select Masters; and Divisional Herald in the Division of Northumberland in the Order of the Red Cross of Constantine.
A hugely active and committed Freemason, Peter’s loss was keenly felt throughout the Province of Northumberland and he will be missed by so many of his friends, Brethren and Brother Knights.
