Most Eminent and Supreme Knight Timothy John Lewis, GCT
4th October 1943 – 14th May 2022
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Most Eminent and Supreme Knight Timothy John Lewis, GCT, the Immediate Past Grand Master of our Order.
Affectionately known as Tim, he was one of the best known Freemasons in the country and held numerous positions of responsibility at national level in many Orders.
This is including eight years as the Grand Secretary across all of the Orders administered from Mark Mason’s Hall; four years as the Grand Master of the Allied Masonic Degrees and six years as the Grand Master of the Knights Templar.
The photograph (left) was taken in 2012 when, as Grand Master, he attended the Bicentenary of Royal Kent Preceptory No 20 in order to present the Bicentenary Warrant.
As a mark of their gratitude the Preceptory invited him to accept Honorary membership of Royal Kent and were delighted when he very graciously accepted.
He will be sorely missed by all the Knights of his Preceptories, as well as those Brethren who knew him in other Orders.
