Knight Sheridan Norman Coulthard
21st April 1964 – 26th November 2022
It is with profound regret that we report the passing of Knight Sheridan Norman Coulthard, of Templar Segedunum Preceptory No 586, in November 2022 at the age of 58 years.
He was initiated into Freemasonry in Segedunum Lodge No 4313 on 4th May 1988 and acted as Master on three occasions, in 1993, 1997 and 2006.
He left the Lodge in 2012, but rejoined in 2019, three years before his passing.
During this interregnum he had joined Holy Cross Lodge No 3679 in 2007 and was its Master in 2009, 2020 and 2022, and was the reigning Master when he died. Indeed, just before he passed away, he had joined a third Lodge, Howdon Panns No 5315 in May 2022.
In the Royal Arch he was exalted in Neptune Royal Arch Chapter No 2908 on 20th February 1989, and was its First Principal in 2002, and he also helped to Found Per Diem Chapter No 9638 in 2004.
I the Knights Templar, he was installed in St Oswald Preceptory No 481 on 28th October 1993 and subsequently was a Founder member of Templar Segedunum Preceptory No 586 in January 1994.
Although he never took the Preceptor’s Chair in his Preceptories, he devoted much time and energy in promulgating the Order in general and Northumberland Province in particular, and he will be missed by his Brethren, Companions and Brother Knights in all of his units.
He will be sorely missed by all the Knights of his Preceptories, as well as those Brethren who knew him in other Orders.
